This air sampler is for use in the pet owners’ home, not the veterinary clinic.  The most common indoor air pollutant in the home is formaldehyde, which is a severe respiratory irritant and known human carcinogen.  It’s well known to outgas from hardwood floors (veneer adhered to medium-density particle board), creating significant concentration in the pet's breathing zone while they nap on the floor.  Pets that have respiratory symptoms might have been exposed to formaldehyde vapor.  Send this formaldehyde sampler home with a suffering pet to see if this is the case.  A simple solution is to relocate a pet’s sleeping area to a towel on a tile floor.  Since formaldehyde is also a severe human irritant and a known carcinogen, you will also be improving the pet owner’s health– the pets protect their owner in many different ways.

This air sampler is placed on the floor near where the pet typically sleeps for 24 hours and returned to the laboratory for analysis.  Once received by the lab, we provide a detailed written report of the formaldehyde concentration within 3 days.
